Avalanche Activity!!!

We all had a stunning morning yesterday but in the afternoon there was quite a bit of avalanche activity. Enough to make us think twice and step back a little today.

Chris and I ended up doing a double ‘skin’ in a quiet area to stay away from people. The snow was a little warmer than I was hoping for but the teams did a great job and skied it really well. (see photos) I wasn’t at my best with my camera today and managed quite a few blanks, which is always annoying!

Meanwhile Thomas and Andreas headed back to Tignes while Henry had the day off.

It was incredibly warm today and we should have some spring snow tomorrow. Unfortunately it’s forecast to be cloudy but the warmth of the day should transform the snow without direct sunlight. It could be an interesting morning? Stay tuned!

PS It was Johnnie Alpine’s last day of his season today. He’s had a fantastic winter and is looking forward to next season already. Thanks very much for all the curries and football matches John. And thanks from Katie as well!

PPS Don’t forget the Lunettes at Le Petit Danois tomorrow kicking off at 5:15. It’s going be a brilliant apres-ski and you may even see me dancing again!
