After a couple of days of flat light, we welcomed the sun back this morning. It was wonderful to be able to see again. With a thin snow cover vision is imperative to choosing the safest way down and avoiding ‘haggis traps’.
We headed up to the Fornet for the first time this season and very little was open. The bubble-lift to the Col was the only option and once on the glacier only the Cascade was running. We found some excellent snow but rocks lurking under the surface were a major factor and I decided to change sectors.
Jean Marc arrived yesterday and he’s here for the next week. He starts tomorrow with his regular touring crew and Chris will be helping him out. Thomas and Jerome are in Tignes this week with the Ski Club while it’s business as usual for Andreas and me.
Thanks to Johnnie Alpine for an absolutely stunning curry last night followed by the England game. Top quality as usual! (Food not football) I imagine those English defenders are going to have sleepless nights thinking about dealing with Mbappe’s pace. And Giroud will give them all they handle in the box, and it should be fun. I can hardly wait!
