Bravo Team!!!

My team did a fantastic job today as we ended up having quite an adventure! I’d good reports from Andreas and Thomas about the Col du Montet so with the strikes affecting the lifts in Tignes I decided on an adventure before the weather changes.

The ‘skin’ up from the T-Bar was as easy as it gets. But, getting over the first Col was interesting to say the least. Well done Tejina for setting a perfect example and bravo team for getting on with it. (See photos)

Unfortunately Peter had some breathing problems and wasn’t feeling well so I radioed for a helicopter rescue. We couldn’t turn around and he couldn’t continue so we took the safe option and got him off the mountain. He’s fine and is in Bourg for tests as I write. (It was stressful as there was no phone signal and the security radio channel back there was pretty crackly, but fortunately I managed to get through.)

The ‘boot’ up to the Col du Montet itself was pretty interesting as last night’s wind had covered up the boot trail. Fortunately Pietro came along and made a new track for my clients as I dealt with the rescue. (He was skiing with his wife Sue and Sarah S) Thanks very much Pietro!

It was a long morning and will be remembered as we crammed in a lot of action, great skiing, stunning scenery and solid team work. Bravo Tejina, Simon, Carol, Peter, Al and Adrian and thanks to Pietro and his team.

I had a cracking dinner party last night with Peter, Al, Adrian, Johnnie Alpine and Carol. It was so much fun I took a photo!

And I’ll keep you posted on Peter’s condition. Stay tuned!

PS It’s very overcast and will hopefully start to snow. Fingers crossed!

PPS Is anyone going to Geneva April 19th? Millie as a 19:10 flight.
