Gill and I have returned to the UK while the girls stay on in Val d’Isere. Millie and Katie invited Lillie and Nay to stay so Gill and I vacated the apartment. They didn’t need us hanging around cramping their style so we left and let them get on with it.
We’d never been to Troyes before so we decided to break up the journey and do some exploring. Troyes is a medieval town and is absolutely fascinating. (see photos) Gill and I arrived Thursday night in time to walk around and get a feel for the place before dinner. And then we went back into town early on Friday to explore a little further before continuing our journey.
We had a fantastic holiday with some stunning weather and walking in Val d’Isere. And visiting Troyes was an excellent way to finish and prolong our time away. Meanwhile, the girls are still there having a wonderful time!
When we arrived in the UK the traffic jam for those arriving for the Tunnel and Dover Port was frightening. Lorries were backed-up for what seemed to be about 20 miles! The queue for the cars wasn’t too much better. We were both very grateful that we aren’t tied to school holidays anymore. It was absolutely horrible and we felt so sorry for all those families stuck in their cars!
