I had a lovely time away for the most part with the girls and watched Katie at gym club, had a Chinese take-away, practiced chipping with Millie, had a great meal at Gill’s sister, saw Rosie, played golf with my mate Bill and had a nice breakfast with another golf friend Paul. My op went well except for a few hours when the drugs wore off and I needed to lay in a dark room with my eyes closed, but all-in-all it wasn’t too bad. My EasyJet flight was early and I arrived back last night around 1AM and awoke to a tough looking morning.
Chris came along with Derek and I and we headed to Tignes to see what was happening over there and the answer was ‘not much’! It’s Spanish week so it was crowded with Spaniards, racers, military people and a few locals and with the flat-light and limited opening it wasn’t the best. We scratched around a little and then returned to our side of the mountain, which was much more pleasant and we finished off with some nice skiing as the light improved drastically. Henry is back in town after his UK Tour (sounds like a rock star!) and he and Andreas went out for a little ski together.
I’ve been out of email contact during the past 6 days so I’m not ignoring anyone and I’ll do my best to catch up as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Conditions have improved as there has been wind, rain, rain-crust, flat light and some sun mixed in over the past 6 days and with 15cm’s of fresh snow today the rain-crust is less of a factor and the skiing should be pretty good tomorrow with sun forecast. Stay tuned.
PS And thanks Ray for taking the girls to the movies. They loved it! And Pietro is here skiing with Fiona followed by a week with the Ski Club.
PPS And don’t forget Andreas’ gig with Karen at the Petit Danois tomorrow at 5 o’clock!
