Jean Marc!!!

.Jean Marc spent a week touring in the Swiss area of Zinal followed by four days in Val d’ Isere. He mentioned how delicate the snowpack was and was grateful for having the mountain to himself. JM said without the regular competition for ‘fresh snow’ he could ski the safest areas without stress or tracks. Bravo JM! Jean Marc is planning on returning this weekend with his wife Maryse to ski and visit friends.

Chris and Suzanne are travelling to Val d’ Isere today. Unfortunately the weather forecast couldn’t be much worse for driving. Two metres of snow is expected over the next 48-hours and with it extremely high avalanche risk. There will be some serious natural purging as this snow will be falling on an extremely unstable base. The road to the Fornet is closed and getting around the village will be difficult.

Stay tuned for more news and check out those webcams!

PS There was a massive avalanche today between town and the Fornet. Four people on snowshoes were taken and they were all rescued safely. The last person was found after 2 hours! More news tomorrow!
