After a fantastic day on Bellevarde and Tignes yesterday we headed to the Fornet for a change of scenery. It was cold but the sun was shining and it was a fantastic morning.
The wind had worked the snow up high but we did find some great snow lower down and in the gullies. After a few cracking runs we eventually had an atmospheric trip out into the Pays Desert. Considering the wind at altitude over the past 36 hours we managed to find pretty good snow before ‘skinning’ out.
We finished the morning off with a great ski down from the Col to the top of the cable car. Talk about ‘low-hanging-fruit’! It was probably the best snow of the morning and it was still there at 1 o’clock.
Karen and Andreas are playing at the Danois at 6 o’clock tonight. It should be a lot of fun as we’ll have quite a good Alpine contingent there tonight.
And a big thanks to Jean Sports who have done a great job repairing Chris and my skis. We’ve made a bit of a mess of them but the new boys in the shop have done an excellent job.
PS We are expecting a storm and a significant amount of snow over the next few days. And Jean Marc and Pietro are both arriving tonight!
