After a stunning patch of skiing it was a little trickier today because of the poor visibility. Chris, Andreas and I headed up to the Fornet and had some good skiing up high but once we dropped down into the fog it was a question of navigating back to civilization! We then headed back to Bellevarde where the vis was much better and finished off the morning there. Thomas headed towards Terre Rouge for a change of scenery as he’s been at the Fornet all week and I haven’t really heard how he got on, but at least he made it back safely as the fog was nasty when you were in it this morning.
We’re still expecting and hoping for a little snow tonight but we really need some visibility as we need to travel far enough to get to clean snow to make for pleasurable skiing. Fingers crossed!
Katie has burnt her nose so I’m going to go through all our boxes to try to find a suitable sunhat, different sunglasses and then go to the pharmacy for some total block. What a bummer!
PS It was my first day in about ten days that I’ve had radio contact with the boys and with that fog it was a day when you really didn’t want to feel alone!
PPS I’m working all day tomorrow then going to Karen and Andreas’ gig at the Danois, which starts at 6 o’clock, so the blog will be late. I’m really looking forward to the gig and I’ll see you all there!
PPPS It’s Gill’s and Oscar’s birthday’s tomorrow so happy birthday to you both, it’s been great having Sasha back skiing with us, and good luck to the Calgary Flames who start their NHL hockey playoffs tonight. Come on boys!!!
