My Canadian friend Peter and I got into the ‘Masters’ spirit yesterday with nine-holes of chipping in his garden. We had water hazards, trees, and some pretty narrow openings to contend with and it was jolly good fun. It was warm enough to have lunch outside on the terrace just in case anyone thought we were being naughty. Thanks, Peter, it was great to see you and nice to get back to some sport. (See photos)
It was a great evening last night for Scots as Scotland won in a penalty shoot-out to book a place at next summer’s Euros. It’s been 23 years since their last appearance at a major tournament and it’s a shame that no one could watch it in their local pub or sports bar. It was a thriller that went right down to the final kick and the bars would have been heaving with Scots at their patriotic best.
Who knows where these latest Covid numbers will take us? It’s not looking very good but hopefully we’ll know more in the next few days about when we can think about travelling. Fingers crossed and stay tuned!
PS I’d forgotten the photos but they are up now.
