The sun was out, the snow was nice, and it promised to be the easiest morning for several days. But, Bunny fell after a couple of turns over the Col Pers and suffered a broken tibia and fibula.
We needed a helicopter rescue and I must say that the Pisteurs were fantastic. Manu was first on the scene followed by Jock and Mich and their teamwork was brilliant. Besides being incredibly caring and gentle, they managed to keep Bunny’s spirits up when she knew she’d done some serious damage. They were incredibly professional, efficient and I was very impressed with their handling of the situation. (As was Bunny!)
Thanks to Chris for alerting the security service and for taking my group while I stayed behind with Bunny. (Chris has tidied up after me many times over the years!) Thanks also to Johnnie Alpine who stayed behind, and to the entire team who all contributed. Bunny has been taken down to Bourg for surgery and I’ll keep you up to date.
Henry also had an accident today although I haven’t yet had a report. Fingers crossed that it wasn’t too serious!
I went to the Danois last night to see Fernando play, and he was fantastic. He was alone with his acoustic guitar and put on a great show. He’s a real professional, has a wonderful connection with the audience, and a great sense of humour.
Speaking of gigs, I must jump in the bath before heading to the Danois for Karen and Andreas. Stay tuned!
PS I’ve written this in a real rush so I’ll check it again later. Photos are up.
