As the sun continues to beat down and the temperatures rise the snow is transforming and spring-snow options are opening up. I skied a combination of 90% spring and 10% winter snow today and some of the spring snow was as clean and perfect as you’ll ever get. The sun hasn’t yet been intense enough to transform the snow everywhere, especially at higher altitudes but down low there are some great spring slopes to be skied. The sun is forecast to shine for the next week so fingers crossed that people wait for the snow to transform properly before attacking the spring slopes or we won’t have anything ‘clean’ to ski. Meanwhile Chris and Thomas went on two-hour walks today towards the Pointe du Val d’Isere and I’ll give that one away because if you’re willing to ‘skin’ for two hours you deserve it! (Chris may add a photo or two of his outing later.)
Karen and Andreas’ gig was fantastic again last night and thanks to all the Alpine clients who came along. Our Friday Alpine Get-together has proven to be a great success, and of course it’s down to Karen and Andreas laying on such a great gigs. I love their song choices, they seem to improve each and every week, and I’m looking forward to next week already!
Andreas had the day off and took his family for an off-piste session. It’s brilliant as a Dad to get your kids started off-piste and it won’t be long until Ness and Victor start ‘skinning’. Bravo!!!
And thanks to Johnnie Alpine for a stunning curry last night followed by an exciting performance from a very young and talented England side. It was John’s last morning of his season today and he finished off with a good one!
Stay tuned for more news tomorrow!
