Tough But Fun!!!

It snowed about 20 cm’s overnight but the big factor was the wind. I could hear the wind in my chimney during the night, and that humming sound is always a bad sign. In fact there were wind speeds recorded of 150 kph on the Pisaillas last night.

With a limited and slow opening Thomas and I made the most of it. We were on the first bubbles out of La Daille and profited from some excellent skiing. Not surprisingly the snow had been seriously compressed in exposed areas. But once we skied down to the trees the snow lightened up immediately and was fantastic to the bottom.

After four runs off the bubbles it was time for a change of scenery as it was getting tracked out.  We then skied a very good Face du Bellevarde and could still find space to make tracks. Because of the quality on the Face we thought the Epaule du Charvet would be a good finish. Unfortunately on tired legs it was a little tougher than anticipated but it was a great morning in tough conditions.

Hats of to Chris who was skiing with Alpine for the first time this morning. Today was Chris’s first day skiing in two years and what a day to start. His first turns out of the bubble weren’t easy but his face light up once we hit the trees. He thoroughly enjoyed himself on a tough but fun morning!

I’m off to Johnnie Alpine’s for the West Ham v Leeds FA Cup match later. And well done Stuart Broad and Jimmy Anderson for hanging in there for a draw!

Stay tuned!
