Tough Conditions!!!

It was never going to be an easy morning as no new snow fell overnight and the wind was howling at altitude. Thomas and I were going to ski the Little Lavachet and Sachette but the Tommeuses Chairlift was closed due to wind so needed to come up with another plan and decided on Mont Roup where we’d be out of the wind and away from the crowds. It was a jolly nice outing and the snow was very good for the most part. I have a Canadian friend here from the Bramley Golf Club and it was Peter’s first time on ‘skins’ with touring boots and pin-bindings and his feet weighed a fraction of what they normally do! Chris and Andreas were also in action today but I’m not too sure what they got up to, but it wasn’t easy out there.

I received a text from Jerry and they skied in -35C at Lake Louise yesterday! Blimey, that is seriously cold! Well done boys and I hope it warms up a little for you.

It was a good week for the Hammers as we played Man City away and Newcastle at home while picking up three points and improving our goal-difference. 1-0 against City on a dodgy plenty was a pretty good result as they usually score 4, 5 or 6 against us! Bummer about Liverpool though as they’re really up against it now but maybe they’ll play better chasing City rather than trying to hold them off?

The wind is howling in my chimney at 3:35PM and it’s unfortunately stopped snowing. It’s difficult to tell how much as fallen but hopefully it will make a difference and the sun is forecast to return in the morning. Stay tuned!
