It was another stunning day and although it was pretty cold first thing it did warm up considerably and the sun is starting to damage the snow. Chris just go away with a Mont Roup and said that it’s now cooked and not an option for tomorrow, Andreas had a fantastic run in one of his Chardonnet couloirs followed by a couloir off the Balme, and Thomas had an excellent run off the summit of the Pramecou via the Rosolin and into one of the Balme couloirs. I headed back up to the Motte and skied a great run through the rocks at the edge of the glacier before skiing out, then a Rosolin and meadows, some scraps off my shoulder and a Funky Familial to finish.
I had a fantastic afternoon of pure technique (just like the old days) with Chris and his wife Kathy. They’re here this week celebrating both of their 60th birthdays and that must be pretty rare for a husband and wife to both turn 60 in the same week! Anyway, they’re having a brilliant time!
It looks like a week to ten days of sunshine so we better hope it gets hot enough to give us some spring snow options. Stay tuned!
PS And it’s that time of the week when I start to get excited about the Guinea Pigs on Thursday followed by Karen and Andreas on Friday! Both gigs are at the Danois and I look forward to seeing you all there!
