We had an absolutely brilliant evening last night in the Danois. Karen, who had a sore throat and couldn’t speak all week put in another fantastic performance. And Andreas was on fire. I’ve never seen him play and sing so well and together it was another terrific show. Pietro arrived just in time and Thomas came up for the gig and along with quite a few ‘Alpine’ skiers it was a great night.
Around 20 to 30 cm’s of snow fell in places overnight and we had a great morning in flat-light. My team skied the front of Solaise to warm up. Then Bonnevie’s drag 3 or 4 times before on one under the Mont Blanc. We then skied the Lower Familial and cut out at the lower bridge before heading back up for some bits and pieces.
It was pretty warm and the skiing was quite tiring so I took the bubbles down while the team finished off skiing down the piste. I’d had enough as I piled into a couple of those bike embankments in the flat-light and didn’t fancy any bumpy piste skiing.
I thought it was a jolly good morning but the best part of the day was still to come. I watched West Ham beat Chelsea 3-2 with Jerry (big Chelsea fan) and Richard F at Johnny Alpine’s. Thanks John!
I’ve had trouble uploading the photos tonight, which is a bummer because the boys would have been pleased with themselves! Stay tuned.
