We were extremely lucky today to have clear blue skies to kick off the season. With the best early-season snow cover that we’ve had for quite some time it was wonderful to have some options as most seasons we are confined to the Pisaillas Glacier at the Fornet. I was surprised at how many people were out skiing and the resort was absolutely trashed, and considering the avalanche risk I thought lot of people were pushing the boat out way too far. A couple of times I skied down to get some photos and by the time I’d dug my camera out there’d be three or four free-riders buzzing down through our line. Needless to say I wasn’t impressed! Anyway, they spoilt my early photos and by time we’d separated ourselves from the masses my camera died as I hadn’t charged it. (I did manage a few photos however). Andreas, Thomas and Jean Marc were all in action and we had a cracking good start to the season.
Karen and Andreas played at the Danois last night and it was an excellent gig. It was pretty quiet but they cracked on anyway and were trying some new songs, which I thought were great, and it promises to be an excellent season of Friday night music.
I must get ready as I’m serving wine and hot chocolate this afternoon for my community service. Stay tuned!
