Millie and Katie have returned from their prolonged trip to Val d’Isere. They had Lilly and Nay joining them and they stayed for another 6 days after Gill and I left. They had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed their freedom. Thanks to Al for driving them down to Lyon to the airport.
I must say I’m pretty pleased with my aubergine, tomato, runner bean, courgette and chili plants. They’ve a lovely sunny place against the house and they seem to be enjoying this heat! (see photos)
Gill and I watched the England v Sweden Semi-Final match the other night. I thought it was one of the best football matches I’ve seen in a very long time. The goals were fantastic and the keeper pulled off a few wonderful saves to keep the Swedes at bay. The movement, vision and passing were brilliant and it was thoroughly entertaining.
One thing that struck me is that the woman seem to understand the ‘off-side’ rule. Whereas the men seem to be constantly caught off-side the woman seem to hold their runs to perfection. Timo Werner should take a lesson from them as he spends more time off-side than on!
If you haven’t seen the ladies play yet don’t miss the final against Germany on Sunday afternoon at 5 o’clock. Gill and I are looking forward to it!
